Is Hillary Right on Tech?
Hillary Clinton says that as a country the United States is bringing up the global rear in terms of technology, and that this makes us inefficient and ineffective in business.
Is this true?

Should we all be praying for the appointment of the CTO of the United States?
Should we be taking lessons on communicating with the rest of the world from France or North Korea?
The United States Government is behind nearly everybody, except in certain discrete areas, in terms of technology. We are, in my view, wasting time, wasting money, wasting opportunities, because we are not prepared to communicate effectively with what is out there in the business world and the private world."
--Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, as quoted by The Associated Press
It may not be exactly what HRC said, but I think we live in a sound bite society, and that we let our communications in business and government be controlled by our short attention span.
I think we take the quick and easy road too often, when we need to take the hard road.
The congressional beating of Ed Liddy over the AIG bonuses is a good example. Liddy is working for $1 a year -- and Congress passed the legislation allowing the bonuses in the first place.
It's easier to divert attention than it is to shoulder responsibility.
What do you think?
