Working Las Vegas

City of Las VegasImage via Wikipedia Morning in Las Vegas

Las Vegas : the last time I was here in December 2007, it was still going strong. Today, the headlines on the local news in my room at New York New York Casino are all about the Black Monday job losses from yesterday.

There is one piece of good news on the Nevada employment front. Some companies are still hiring, including a job fair today at the Tropicana Hotel Casino. There is also a large construction project called City Center that is seeking to fill 6,000 jobs. They have a cool employment site.

I am getting ready to head over to register for the Employers of Excellence Conference and hear Stedman Graham give the keynote address at breakfast.

There are a lot of famous Chicagoans dominating the media these days -

I'll catch up with them and you later!
