The cast and crew of "Fringe," J.J. Abrams' new sci-fi show on Fox, got caught up in a nasty labor skirmish when they tried to film at the Crown Plaza Hotel near La Guardia Airport last week. Hotel employees are involved in a "walk and work" strike over benefits and contracts, prompting the "Fringe" crew to move to a different location. "We caught them early in the morning and they promised they wouldn't film," says a rep for the Hotel Workers Union. "It's mostly union folks working on the show, so they understood." A hotel rep had no comment.
