CNN reports this morning that “84,000 more jobs lost in August,” bringing unemployment to 6.1%, and total jobs lost in 2008 to 605,000. Assuming each job loss has a family of a spouse and 2 kids behind it, 336,000 people were affected this month, and a potential 2.4 million people have been affected this year.
This doesn't take into account the extended impact. What's the answer? We need to stop worrying about it. Just ask George Bush, Phil Gramm, and John McCain.
