Homeland Security - Snoop Dogg in Oz

So you think that your Human Resources department at your high tech company has difficulties in getting visas for ex-pats? Does the 1 day availability of H-1-B visas dampen your enthusiasm for recruiting outside the United States?

You should try being a famous gangsta rapper getting into the Emerald City of Oz...err make that Australia.

Reuters reported that gangsta rapper Snoop Dogg has been granted a visa to do a musical tour in Australia, but he will be required to undergo counseling before entering the country. This is not the first time Snoop has had issues with working Down Under.

According to Reuters, Snoop a.k.a. Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr., was previously refused permission to even apply for a visa to enter Australia in 2007 because of his criminal record These difficulties torpedoed plans for Cordozar to co-host the MTV Australia Video Music Awards.Check Spelling

Snoop drew on his celebrity friends to pry the borders of Oz open. Oscar-winning Australian actor Russell Crowe wrote a letter to immigration officials on his behalf assuring them that Snoop was no security threat, and asking that he be allowed in the country to conduct his 17-day "Smoked Out" tour.

Previously charged with murder, but not convicted, Snoop Dogg has pledged to do charity work with at-risk youths while in Australia.

See, it could be worse! Snoop probably will feel like a Srtanger in a Strange Land anyway.
