Troubleshooting The Unlucky Manager

It seems like there is always one manager at every company who is always surrounded by problems. You know the one...late appraisals, wage rate inequities because he made an offer to a new hire for more than most of the current associates earn, and always has the highest turnover and worst attendance.

It just seems like the dude has a black cat walking in front of him, all the freakin' time, right? Here is a list that you may find helpful in assessing the *real* reasons there are so many problems.

Does your problem child do any of the following?

Unlucky Manager Checklist

#1-Refuse to Accept Personal Accountability
#2-Fail to Develop People
# 3-Try to Control Results Instead of Influencing Thinking
#4-Join the Wrong Crowd
#5- Manage Everyone the Same Way
#6- Forget the Importance of Profit
#7- Concentrate on Problems Rather Than Objectives
#8- Be a Buddy, Not a Boss
#9- Fail to Set Standards
#10- Fail to Train People
# 11- Condone Incompetence
# 12- Recognize Only Top Performers
#13- Try to Manipulate People

Hat tip to Jon Faber of LinkFlorida.ning.com who sent the list, which I adapted slightly for this post!
