A Virtual Job
Fair for Palm Beach County businesses to recruit new employees is being
held by Workforce Alliance from February 16th through February 29th and
running day and night at the specially created website,
http://www.alliancevirtualjobfair.com .
Kathryn Schmidt, President and Chief Executive Officer of Workforce
Alliance, said, "This is a new concept, and the 24-hour access makes it
much easier for those job seekers who have classes or daytime jobs to
attend. They can register and submit a resume on the Virtual Job Fair
website and their information will go straight to the right contact person
at the participating companies."
Viking Yacht Company, Florida Crystals, Zachry Construction and ESPN760
Radio are the principal co-sponsors of the event and will be accepting
applications and resumes at their "virtual job fair booths" during the two-
week period of the fair.
Other employers having a "virtual booth" include Aspen Air
Conditioning, Chevron, Boca Raton Resort, Children's Services Council, Dale
Carnegie Training, Express Personnel, Florida Turbine Technologies, General
Dynamics, Home Services, IBM Southeast Employees Federal Credit Union, Ion

Scripps Research Institute, US Home Systems and Wellington Regional Medical
Center.
The special website, http://www.alliancevirtualjobfair.com , can be accessed
after the kick-off of the Virtual Job Fair at 12 noon, February 16th and
remains open through 11:59 p.m., February 29th.
Job seekers who do not have ready access to a personal computer to
attend the Virtual Job Fair are welcome to visit one of the three Workforce
Alliance Career Centers for use of a computer at no cost. They are located
in Boynton Beach, Belle Glade and West Palm Beach and, besides computers,
have printers, faxes and phones for the use of job seekers.
Workforce Alliance is the organization chartered by the State of
Florida to operate workforce development programs in Palm Beach County that
respond to the needs of both businesses and job seekers. The Virtual Job
Fair is expected to attract a large number of job seekers from throughout
the County as well as others from across the State of Florida and from
